I'm not exactly sure what Skid-steer says it will handle, but we've all seen some pretty healthy engines butted up against the transmission and very few have failed quickly. Of course, none of us would ever "shock load" or otherwise abuse them.
Stuck in the seventies- not in the swamp.

You can get the Max IV with a 29HP fuel injected Kawasaki too. The Buffalo Truck has a Kohler Command 23HP. And there was the Attex Superchief, RIM/early Max IV with the T-20 and a 44HP Chaparral G50B, and then Recreatives put the TA440 Kawasaki which was rated around 42 or 44HP in the BIG MAX II and the Max IV. Trust me, a T-20 will handle A LOT more than 25HP. Ask Kevin Griffin, he has 6 wheelers with small car engines powering a T-20. I've seen them perform in person and those T-20's held up just fine and didn't even break a sweat doing it.Originally posted by amphibious drew View PostDoesn't the max iv and buffalo truck come with a 27hp"Looks like you have a problem with your 4 wheeler........you're missin' two wheels there"

HI
As i mentioned earlier the max hp is only 25 for t20
BUT First u must combine torque and rpm also
Only this will give u suitability for application
Point of note most 2 stokes make high hp figures but little torque
4 strokes make more torque but typically less hp
Remember the figure quoted by borg warner may well be for constant output 100 % duty cycle .As most machines donot operate at 100% all the time a little more hp and torque would probably be ok
Just remember the splines on the output shafts will wear quickly the higher hp u have
I do have some attex super cheif output shafts that have the splines half worn away
