I believe all the ones with the channel type levers are new type and the popcicle stick lever are old. Also the Borg Warner units are old and Skid Steer is new type

I think you can call recreatives with the serial number and they can tell you a bit about it.

The one on the left is the "new style" with "c" channels
The one on the right is "old style" with "pop cycle sticks"

buy saying the channel type levers are u meaning the 2 c channel levers that I think would hook to the plungers of the trans on the drive stick linkage?

If it has a serial # it IS a new style. I'm not sure when "skid steer corp." started, but the trans on the left has 1975 cast into the case halves.

thanks for the pics Jim ,aka The buggy Man!
Drew great idea I will contact them once I take the thing back out!
Jersey Big Foot, I see the differance in the pics that Jim had posted.

Is it as crazy as every body says to do a over haul on these things, price wise? I have already taken it apart once and replaced all the seals. every thing inside looked good. If im doing it again I might as well rebuild it right? and all so while im at it make sure the vent works correctly. second set of seals blown!

They really are inexpensive to rebuild BEFORE they "have to" be rebuilt......in other words...if you wait too long, or they get any moisture in them....Cha-ching!

If all the bearings are still good and the bands have not worn into the drums, or anything else is broken. You are just looking at relined bands (and new seals are a good idea too).
