  • Driven Clutch lubricant

The Argo Service manual says to "use a silicone based lubricant such as WD-40" for the Driven Clutch. The only problem I have with that advice is that WD-40 is not a silicone based lubricant. I know I've asked a lot of questions, but I just got the machine and I'm going through it and learning as I go, so far, all I've found wrong is a blown fuse and too much gear oil in the transmission. Can anybody recommend the correct lube for the driven clutch?

I have always used a dry graphite lube for both clutches. I fing that oil, wax, or silicone lubes will gum up after some time and make the clutches stick. spray the graphite on any moving parts and the belt surfaces. it goes on wet, and will flow in between parts, then drys in a few minutes. you should be able to find it at NAPA

I will second the Dry Graphite, but I don't spray the belt or clutch faces.
