HI flippy, i was "told" that it came off of a 2000 to 2005 800 or 700. I would recomend that you pull yours off (there is a little 1/6 th inch upset to keep the clutch from going on too far and hitting the break so if you dont remove the clutch, even just a little ways your reading is going to be off) and check the shaft diamater (it is either 7/8 or 1 inch) other snow mobiles may have the same common parts. I put it on an 83 or 85 I/C 8 wheeled argo (i think, i never really bothered to check the year). I am ony doing it so it matches the drive clutch (from the same year 700 or 800 polaris) on my Geo metro 1.0L tripple. When i get home i will measure mine to see.
Now that i think about it, the polairs secondary is easily 2 or 3 inches larger in diamater, if others do this it will alow a much much lower gear ratio without loosing any top end! But i think we will have to "shim" the spring to keep the belt from slipping down to easily, and step down to a lighter spring on the primary clutch.
Also the offset and larger diameter of the polaris clutch will require a lot of cuting to the fire wall!Last edited by spookum; 07-18-2012, 07:08 PM.Alaska floating atvs group on face book. Fixing help and trail rides!!!!!
