Those rims are just 8" K-locks from Recreatives. Nothing real special. We used to get screamin' deals on tires and rims, so I bought two or three sets back in 2005/06 to outfit a few machines.
Welding polyethylene can be a real b*tch. What sort of welder are you using? A few folks have had luck with a Urethane Supply Company welder on ebay. Cheap enough, and seems to work quite well.
The Swamp Fox is coming along well. First (short) ride what this weekend! I haven't run the wiring yet, and everything's kinda dangling off of it, sparking/arcing when I hit each bump, but it makes for a more exciting first experience.
