Cross-Referenced parts

I am new to aatvs I recently purchased a 1990 MaxII it is in need of TLC

I am freaked over the prices for parts! I have been searching for sources other than R I. I have found a bunch would love to share my findings if anyone is interested.

I am not a Max owner yet but there are some similarities

I have a Couple of Argos and I can usually find Parts at Industrial supply places ,Farm equipment supply and Auto parts type places

Some Places I go to may not be in your area but I know a few that are

Granger ,MSC, Mc Master Carr, just to name a few

I find one needs to shop around a bit for pricing because some of these places can actually be higher then original parts and other not .

By me I got a few places that are competitively price and I use different places for different types of equipment

Princess Auto , TSC Canadian tire , BDI etc.

I have found the weirdest stuff for great price at the most unusual places
I went to Pro Bass Sports and got a good price one drain plugs only they called them Bait well Plugs

Some US based places that I have herd of on this site are
Lawn Mower Equipments & Parts, Blades, Lawn Mower Tires, Belts & Starter
Small Engine Warehouse - Briggs Engines
I have also herd of this HarborFreightUSA on this board

oh this is a good place too Snowmobile Parts, ATV Parts, Go Kart Parts, Mini Bike Part, Lawn Mower Parts, Chainsaw Part and Small Engine Parts

what are you looking for specifically ?

I deal with a place called Buffalo Bearing in Buffalo, NY and I know a lot of people on the site have done the same. They sell very high quality stuff at low prices. Tell them that Jeff with all of the 6 wheelers sent you and they will take good care of you. What parts are you looking for to fix up your Max? You might want to post up an ad in the classifieds section because there are a lot of members on the site with Max parts floating around in their garage/shop/basement, myself included.

This is the beauty of these machines, almost all the parts can be fabricated or sourced locally. They were designed to be this way and is a reason why you still see 40 year old machines out being used. By having readily available parts a person doesn't have to worry about the machine becoming obsolete because parts are unattainable.

Any local small engine / lawn mower shop should have them. I'm good friends with a snapper dealer and he got me one a while back. It was a package that included the filter and per-filter. I'm sure you can get them at you local autoparts store too.
