  • Argo axels running new and old style

Is their any reason why I could not run spline style axels and sheer pin style? I ask because as I replace them I would like to update to new style. I cant afford to do them all at once and to cheap.

Running different style axles shouldn't hurt anything as long as you get sprockets for them that have the same tooth count. I have splined axles in the back of my Max IV and the older bolted sprocket tube axles for the front four.

The only problem you may have is if your machine uses the obsolete "long" front axles shafts. You would have to build a frame extension, and notch it to go around the jack shaft. I have done it, feel free to ask questions. Past that, all you need are two splined axle shafts, and 24 tooth sprockets. The cheap way to get splined sprockets (wish i would have known this before) is to get a 6 spline 1 1/4 weld in place sleve, and get two single 50 sprockets. Wrap the sprockets in chain (to get the spacing correct) and weld the crap out of the outside of them!

The best bang for your buck it to spline (or pay someone to key) the front two axel shafts.

this is what i have been up to, hope it asks and feel free to ask questions.

Knowing what i know now, i think that if you get adiar track tuners for the middle axles, and spline the front and rear with tracks, it will be just as good as a tricked out 2012!
