    Yep...great advice! I have one under the argo seat and one is always in my coveralls when working on the machine as you can be guaranteed to drop at least a couple items each time your working on the machine!

        Thanks Again for your comments...

        Both clutchs are out now!! Man...So glad I did not buy a Argo when a was 25...I would have stripped the allen bolt and probably ruined the secondary clutch...Patience pays off...

            OK, so now what are you doing with them?
            It would be a shame not to do some experimenting with different settings. Might I make a couple suggestions?
            Pull the Primary Clutch apart, and put a "Shim" under the spring. A 5/32 Welding rod works great, just knock the Flux Coating off, bend the welding rod into a circle around a piece of pipe. Trim the welding rod, so that you have a circle that is the same diameter as the Spring Coils. With Shim installed, you will notice that your machine engages at a higher RPM, and Upshifts slower, Downshifts faster.
            Pull Your Secondary apart, you will probably find that your Spring is in hole #3. If you move the Spring to Hole 2 or 1 (1 being the tightest). "Tightening" the Secondary Spring will also help in Decreasing your rate of Upshift and Increasing your rate of Downshift.
            Basically this will make the Clutch engage at a higher RPM, with more power available to you, it will keep you in a Lower Gear Longer as you ramp up, and it will help the clutches backshift faster so you have more power when you need it.

            While you have the Secondary Apart, pay close attention to the condition of the Snap Ring, and the Snap Ring Groove at the end of the shaft. Make sure the inner edges of the Snap Ring are not "worn/rounded", they should be sharp. Make sure the Snap Ring is tight in the Shaft Groove.

              Guess what? I hit another snag with the thing...

              I try to do again like in your vids but i could not get the primary dismounted...I try to put the clutch in a vice and turn the freacking top nut...but could not make it move a inch...I did not try to heat it or get to hard on it because i did not whant to break anything...

              Do you think i could heat it i was not sure if it has plastic part in it...Maybe it's just locktight...Hummm!!! I did not whant to hold it to hard pn the vice too I am affraid to break it...

              I am really happy about you mods too...I will try them for sure when i will figure out how to open this damn thing.

              Any suggestions welcome to help me open up the little bell!!!

                Yes i have seen this one!! I was starting to think of you as a kind of Argo Ninja...You kind of broke my illusions with your creative editing.... Anyways it's not the first time i got my bubble pop!!!

                  Hey guys,

                  I still have questions...Can you please help me...

                  Do i need to be affraid of breacking something when I squeeze the clutch in the vice?

                  Can I heat the top bolt? is it supposed to be lock with locktight?

                    Just wrap the clutch in a cloth before you put it in the vise to help protect it. I would try some leverage on the bolt since you said you were going easy on it earlier. Then spray some PB blaster and let it sit some more.

                      An iMpact gun would work nicely to remove the nut, if you have no access to one try your local auto repair shop.

                        ^^ This will have it off in half a Heartbeat^^

                        Alternativly, I would hold the clutch flat on my workbench, with gloves on, then have a friend put a wrench on the nut, and smack the end of the wrench with a Hammer to break the nut free (Righty Tighty, Lefty Loosy). Better than having it in a vise, as far as I'm concerned, just be carefull.

                          Sooooo, without the proper tool to hold the clutch.....and no air operated impact.......once the clutch is apart, how do you expect him to get the nut back on tight enough for re-assembly?

                            Ah!!! Wow they says 100 ft.lbs in argo manual that's probably why i can't get it out...I have a torque wrench and air impact and electric impact...I think i am just to shy with my new toy...

                              There is a special wrench to hold the powerbloc 50/80 clutches. I assume there is one for your clutch too. Maybe this will help Cvtech R&D - - Informations techniques

                                Went out easy with my impact!!!

                                I did the upgrade suggested by RD...here is the video:


                                As you can see in the video something seems to be odd with my block...Is it supposed to be worn like this?
