Have finally gotten my 8x8 Argo running with the rebuilt Koheler 399.
I had some problems getting it to where i am now but am still experiencing a few bugs.
It seems that whenever i turn or put differential brake pressure on, the machine bogs right down and becomes very underpowered. High or low gear.
I usually end up having to turn by giving short bursts of speed and then brake in the direction of my desired turn 3-4 times to complete it.
Also when climbing incline or even when driving it up the tilt trailer to load , it will begin to bog down.
When running in high gear on a straight run i can only get about 15-20 mph, this seems slow for this 399 but yet again it is an 8 wheeler.
I am not sure if its a carb problem ...carb was just rebuilt, but you never know with these old Tilitson HR.
would anyone have any suggestions on how to remedy this or at least trouble shoot.
