  • My HDI project

I bought this hdi around 8 months ago.
I replaced all chain and bearings, brake pads and band serviced and fitted a few extras.

Still to wire up rear winch and fit seats. My mum made the canopy cover for me, the liner was made by a friend and I have done the rest. I also have a roof rack, 8 led work lighten reversing camera, I phone dock and a few other bits to fit, here it is as she sits just now.

It was in a sorry state when it arrived home originally. It had been sunk to the bottom of a loch (huge pond) the tub was full of grease, and general crud. The windscreen was smashed, 4 of the tyres were wrecked but it was a good base for a project.

I will upload more pics as the project progresses.

That is a beautiful Argo. You got it cleaned up and repaired very well. I like the half cabs on these machines. Did you do the diamond plate work yourself?

        Very nice!!!
What it lacks in ground clearance it makes up for with traction.

Nice one Rory, you get all the best donor vehicles up there How long was it under water, has it not got into engine / transmission etc?
You going to start producing hoods / soft tops now as well? Is the rear window welded in?

Don't tell me, it was out looking for Nessie when it went down, got a bit too close and one flick of the tail and it was all over

I'[ll give you a ring in the week

Very Nice Rory! Lots of TLC in this one. I really like the diamond plating in the back.Does that just pop out like the plastic bed liners do?

A friend made the liner for me, it just lifts out, the same as the genuine plastic liners.

I'm not sure how Long it was submerged for, but once it was recovered it lay around for a few weeks I'm told.

Engine / box were fine. The fuel tank was full of water and mud however. I removed and cleaned it out. She seems to be running fine, however time will tell.

We have made a couple of cabs for my own machines, learning along the way

I will upload some more pics I took tonight.

Did you shorten the hood then Rory, or is it all new ? If you want some info on where to source materials let me know.

Nice job by the way, looks very tidy. Is it going on rental or is it your own?
