Having some trouble with the brakes on my 02 conquest. Went to go for a ride a couple weeks ago and when I went to turn the left tiller bar had no pressure. It just came all the way down to my knee while the other one only had a couple inches of play before engaging. Bleed the brakes and had same play as on the right side...good to go.
Went trouting with my son that evening and no problems going to the pond. When I was getting ready to come home there was no brakes again on the left side (about 20 minutes driving and 1 hour sitting by the pond). Tried to bleed the brakes again but with no luck. There was lots of fluid by the caliper but no pressure building up. Came home with just one brake. Interesting ride....
Took the master cylinder apart and noticed a couple small notches taken out of the rubber plunger seals. Hopefully this will fix my problem.
Before I start to put everything back I had a quick question for members...Should the 2 vent holes on the bottom inside the cylinder be free? I can put an allan key down the one closest to the plunger about an inch but the one in front will not allow me to put the key in at all. Should both holes allow me to put the allen key in about 1 inch?
Sorry for the essay....
