Not sure whats going on with my new toy. The first time I took it out the Ammeter was showing that it was charging at just over 16 volts. I checked out my buddies avenger and his was just over 14 and most charging systems I am familiar with are also around there. So, I double checked it with a multimeter and sure enough, at full throttle it was topping 16 volts. Well, I ordered a new voltage regulator and I put it in yesterday and still the same story! What am I missing? Anyone else experience this?

Charge your battery then check again. my avenger has a 25 amp altenator..so i think 16 would be ok.

You are thinking amps, not volts. I have a volt meter and it is reading just over 16 volts at anything over half throttle. Just to double check and make sure the volt meter is working properly I used a fluke multimeter to double check and that is reading over 16 volts as well.Originally posted by tracmaster View Post

Hmmm on my 2000' BigFoot my volt meter reads just about 12 volts,when running,,,,Hammer down maybe 13 volts,,Battery is the same one I got it with,,,so far it has been fine. 16 Volts seems to much,,,seems to me,,13.9 or so volts is about all you want on most 12 volt systems.Comment
