So I have gone through 3 throttle cables and the last two only lasted about 10hrs each. early 80's argo KB, with a Kohler 17hp. I upgraded the plastic twist grip to the new one, as the original part number is shown as discontinued.
They have all broken in the twist handle right below the cable ball where it hooks into the twist grip.
This is by no means a big deal, we are getting good at slapping some vice grips on the cable end and driving home, but its a pain in the butt.
I swagged my own cable this time going a bit thicker in diameter, but I'm not seeing any similar problems in the forums so maybe I have another issue.
Any thoughts? and any suppliers for making throttle cables?
