  • Question for you Argo guys

I am looking at a 1989 Argo Magnum locally. Has a new engine and a new drive clutch and appears to be in decent shape. This is probably a stretch ( I'm a dealership service manager so I recognize how this question sounds ) the owner says the Magnum only turns left. Is this symptom something that screams "this specifically causes that" or as I suspect is it a condition that could have many causes?

Could be something as simple as no brake fluid in the right side or like Curtis said break pads but... Could also be a bad master cylinder, blown brake line on the right, seized caliper, etc.

Thanks Kris, I appreciate the info. Just wanted to make sure it was nothing catastrophic, the Max II im building now was supposedly in "not bad shape" I learned a lesson quickly

"Only turns left" as in "will not turn right but still goes straight" is most likely a brake issue, worst case scenario is still a relatively cheap fix.

"only turns left" as in "only turns left, even when I want it to go straight" could be a whole bunch of other issues, like an unahppy transmission.

That's a more settling, most likely an issue with brakes then.
