What is the best way to jack up your Argo to grease the bearings? I have been using a floor jack and 1" piece of black pipe to distribute the weight.

I have a Response 8x8 i drive up on a three two by six's with the front tire resting on the boards and work on the second axles. then drive the second axle onto the board and can do the remaining three without having to move the machine again. If you get two of the four back tires off the machine will want to lean forward. Anyway works for me.

Hi guys. I use my motorcycle jack. You know the ones they advertise as a motorcycle/ATV jack? It has the right width for my 6X6 and I get the front an middle axle off the ground, then when they are done I jack up the back. I live in Canada and purchased it at Princess Auto, but I have seen them in the States at Costco, Harbour Freight and such. Pretty good prices too.
      Cheers

I use a floor jack, a piece of 2x6, and a couple jackstands. I get the Argo off the ground, and pull the tires and floorboards. Use a shopvac to clean out the tub and grease/oil everything all at once.
This is a good time to check all outer axle bearings and idler shaft brngs as well.

            Craftsman ATV jack.

It will lift my 6wheels off the ground! Makes life great when I can sit on my creeper seat, and just roll around the argo.

              Sears jack

Greasemonkey, is this ATV jack stable enough after you get the Argo off the ground, to crank the Argo up and put it in gear to run the chains to oil them??? Guess it must fit in between the tires right?? Thanks for the suggestion.

Yes, roll it in on the front side, put just a normal jack on the hitch in the back. Crank both up, completely off the ground and stable. I tell ya the combination of those two jacks and a compressor/impact has made a 2 hour bearing grease job into an easy 15 minutes.

                  THANKS!!!!

                  Derek, Greasemonkey,

Thanks, guess I know where my next semi-weekly stipend from the financial mgr is going next week. I'll have to see if my Sears store has one. I actually have a Craftsman electric impact wrench I bought in the early 80's and it does a heck of a fast job pulling those tires and putting them back on for greasing the bearings.

Good investment also, along with a set of decent inpact sockets.
