    1984 KB Series Pics

I don't know why the pics didn't attach to my previous post, but here they are again. These show the machine at the point of restoration that I'm at. The machine was a total mess when I bought it, with all the shafts bent, seized bearings, chains and sprockets. That has all be fixed/replaced now.
Just the electrical charging circuit left to figure out. Thanks for all the help so far eightwheeler and racerone3! I got the lights and starter working last night. The Kohler KT-17 Series II runs nicely.
Any help on the charging circuit would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks again!!

        Thanks!!

The machine was totally stripped down. The frame was soda blasted, primmed and painted. The engine was painted with high heat engine enamel. I tried to color match the Kohler blue/green but found out that the origional paint was discontinued due to lead content. I didn't have a good sample piece to get the true color so it was painted GM Engine Blue. The poly body was cleaned, primed with plastic primmer and top coated with oil-based paint that was scan matched for color to the origional plastic.

i just found the engine manual for KT17 engine. i downloaded it from www.kohlerplus.com you can log in as a guest durring "non peak" hours or i can e-mail you a PDF of it. i think the diagrams in there will get you what you need to know for the charging system. send me a pm with your e-mail and i'll send it to you

              Hey Racerone3,

I wired the argo on the weekend but found that the rectifier/regulator module in the 15 Amp charger circuit was bad. I guess that's why the po had problems keeping the battery up. Anyways, got a new module coming tommorow night and I'll put it in and let everyone know how that works. Moose season starts in 16 days so the big push is on to get everything buttoned up and take a few test runs before then. I'll post pics when it's all done.

Can you send me a pic too? I bought the manual from Richard but the wiring schematic is kind of lame.

                Thanks

                Chris
