  • Welcome back- My new Argo 950SX testing, comments and feed back

For anyone wondering about the new Argo 950 Aurora series, I am the proud owner of a new 2020 Argo 950SX, the last one built as a 2020. It has the 3500 pound Argo winch, brush guard, full back seat and the new Argo XT119 mud (swim) tires.

If you are considering a new Argo with these mud tires let me be the first to tell you they don't swim very well. If you are lucky on a good day you can get 1 1/2 mph out of them. As far as mud performance they are at best reasonable. If you buy a set of these for an 8x8 you can expect to get smoked in almost every situation by a MaxIV with Terra tires.

Now for the good stuff, this machine is a beast, I never thought I would see the day when I would say an AATV is over powered. This machine is FAST. This MACHINE is powerful. I was determined to run this machine with tires but after getting stuck several times on my first day out the machine was parked and a set of Adair tracks was installed. With the two inch off set rimes reversed and the Adair tracks bolted on this machine became even more of a beast. It is blazing fast even with the tracks and the APS steering system keeps the machine going where you point it.

Trail performance? I have never seen an AATV that can move up and down trails so quick going exactly where you point it-IT IS FAST and it accelerates and at rate that is almost unbelievable.

Sweetness sir. Can't wait to see some more vids. Have heard about the tires being subpar before. Again very nice machine. Cheers!

These new tires are heavy, probably about 38 pounds, they are NOT the best for swimming or mud but they are an excellent heavy duty track tire. I have always run the 24" swim tire with my tracks, we'll see how well these new tires hold up.

Dan, Congratulations. Let’s just see how fast you are. I will race you at Busco Beach with BIG GREENIE. Maybe JohnBoy will be our starter. See you soon Sir.

Hey Dan, just how many of the machines have you got now or do keep buying and selling? Last I knew you had a Mudd Ox.

Awesome, can't wait to go for a ride! The breaks in the chevrons (treads) are designed for handling and control at high speeds. Pros and cons to different designs.

My new beer holder spilled some on the trails - in it's hair and down it's throat.
                      Joe Camel never does that.

I have had five Argos, A Mudd OX a MaxIV, two quads, and a Polaris highlifter side by side. Each machine did something better than the other. When I sold my last Argo I was determined to put the AATV world behind me. Memories of the Mud rides at Busco, Big Nasty and the Mud nations just kept coming back. So here I am with an Adair tracked Argo Aurora 950SX, I have never enjoyed anything more than a tracked AATV ride.

Well waiting for a video Dan, I've been here since your max4 through to the mudd ox and have enjoyed your reviews also. I thought the mudd ox was the pinnacle for you? Did you sell it thinking you were getting out of the hobby?

At this point my next stop will be Busco Beach, I love the Big Nasty but right now there isn't another machine around here to run with me back in the swamps. I loved it when a close friend had a tracked HDI, but he has moved so the videos will have to wait for a minute. The mud under this water is so soft you can't walk in it, I have already learned that anything can happen when your in Nasty conditions.
