      I agree with the thought "the lower the winch, the better", but you can only go so low before the winch starts to interfere with aproach angles.
      Hooking up high on a tree also helps.........as long as you don't pull the tree down
      On one of my vids, I had to winch up a steep hill in the winter. You can see how high the winch line is hooked, and you can clearly hear the tree creaking and cracking.........just a little creapy doing that.

      As for the bumper,
      Start with 3" spaced cuts, that works for most of the front. Then you will cut between those for 1.5" spaces to get around the Argo corners. Carry it back along the sides as far as you want. (Mine runs just around the front corners, then stops).
      {Beer Break}
      Mold it to the front of the Argo.
      Clamp it in place. (Don't fit it too tight, it will pull togeather a bit when welded)
      {Beer Break}
      Tack weld it at each cut.
      {Beer Break}
      Remove from Argo, and tack the new bumper to a workbench.
      Weld up all your cuts.
      {More Beer}
      Remove bumper from bench.
      Fit bumper to Argo.
      Drill mounting holes.
      (Mmmmmm Beer}
      Spray with Primer.
      {Beer}
      Spray paint your choice of colors.
      {Beer.......As you can see, this project takes a little more than a six-pack to complete. I recommend a case to see that it's finished properly}

      I used a "Chop Saw", the Zipcuts are not wide enough.
