Double 50 on mine, too. I've slept since I did it, but 4 10ft's did mine, either exactly or with two extra primary chains, exactly. Don't ask me how I could forget that My 4 rear chains are 5 ft each; a first and second axle and a primary chain(or two?) is 10 ft. Lay it all out, new and old before you cut.

I did use the shoup USA double 50, seems to be good chain, was recommended by an argo dealer. For me shipping was free and no taxes, and price was less than local quality chain.

If you just wanted to replace the two chains under the front pan, that's less than 10ft. Not encouraging you to scrimp.. stretched chain causes wear and $ on sprockets, esp those expensive looking countershafts and rotors.

      Chain

      Hi Roger,

Thanks for the help. I have one chain that slaps the pan under my feet while driving. I will be replacing those center chains first. A 10 foot roll should take care of that. I also need to replace the bearing on my idler assy shafts. Is removal of top and transmission required?

      Thanks

There is another recent thread talking about the early argos and the nuts on the bearing retainer and what it takes to get to them.. I don't know.
