i saw a vid on youtube today. not sure where i saw it but they had a argo and they took the plastic floor out and just made some metal caps on top of the chain area.. i would like to know what your ideas are on this. i liked it because it made the chain area lots easier to get to. and gives you a few inches extra floor room.. if anyone knows what i am talking about and can offer some help i would love it

Flooring
Understand what you are talking about but i went a little different way with it. I cut a piece of plywood and fitted it to the back and front plastic floor pans, and i am in the process of applying a rubberized coating to the wood. It is easier for passengers to maintain footing in back, plus................ I am not that tall and when i get into the front, if you foot slips on the plastic flooring you get to ride the body.So i have a wood plate over the plastic flooring in front as well. Is not a problem to remove.
The body still can flex as it is suppose to with this installation. Bolting the floor to the frame may not allow the frame to flex and cause other problems. This i am not sure of but stands to reason. The metal on the flooring is of a light gauge. Others may have some input on this.
This is just the way that i went. Just my 2 cents.

i cant find that vid now at all.. i am not sure you are on the right track with what i want. i want to make covers that fit only over my chain area. and my feet will go on the floor pan. that way when i need to work on my chains all i have to do is open a small plate... lets say about 5" by the length of the chain.. does any one have pics of this? i really wish i could find that youtube video.. i found it on my iphone and i cant find the history on it and when i look up the same thing it does not come up..

i would have to say to modify as you like to make the machine fit your needs. the deeper floor would make it nicer for us tall guys. i wouldn't build covers from anything too heavy or mount them too rigid, as you might change how the frame flexesA well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

so your telling me that the frame does flex? and making it more rigid is a bad thing?
i was thinking about using aluminum and making some sort of pin system. and the bottom pan area would be covered with truck box cover. the cool part i like is the fact that my chains would never see stones and dirt ever again. and you would never hear the chains hitting the floor boards ever again..

This may ,,,well - without going to a drive system that is sealed (meaning that it is encased and in a constant bath of lubricant with no way of any foreign substance to get into the enviroment), you will always have "stuff" acumilate around your chains and sprokets. The "how much" will depend on your driving conditions and the "how clean" depends on your maintenance skills.

yea i will still get some dust on the tracks but if i build a sealed lid just over the chain area i will keep 99% out.. i think i would still like to make some sort of small aluminum floor pan that goes flat to the ground.. the reason for the floor pan is the bearings are still exposed. and i dont need to be steeping all over them....

Yes the frame flexes to some degree.
