will the rawhide 26x12x12 fit on the argo 6x6 frontier??

  • #2
If you mean the Goodyear 26x12x12 Terra, yes they will but it uses 12 inch rims but the bolt pattern is the same, don't know for sure but I would imagine a frontier would fly in the water with those tires, they should also raise your machine about 1/2 inch but they will not ride any where close to the standard tires. Georgia Mud Bug has a set of 25 inch mudbugs of his Frontier and it is the best mud eating machine i have ever seen. I have several videos of his frontier posted on this forum and on you tube going through some unbelievable mud holes

I wouldn't put tracks on a machine I was going to run in the swamp unless they were the escargo tracks that swim. I think the best over all tire for your frontier would be the new 25" Argo swim tire. If you would like to see some video of a Frontier with escargo tracks i have attached a link. The escargo tracks for a Frontier are about $3000.00

I would venture to say that the Escargo brand of track is the best " over all " track made , for light weight, climbing up steep banks, and swimming for an amphib that can run tracks.

              Hi.

I see some one else that likes Escargo tracks.

I live about an hour away from them.

              Great guys.

I managed to put 26" Kenda executioners on my frontier. The distance between the tires now is very narrow.

You shouldn't have any problems as far as power is concerned. You will notice more floatation at 26"

As i no longer have the same engine.

The new motor added 40 lbs of weight. I can't tell the difference while floating with the 26" tires.

All in all a fair trade off.

Colbalt, do the Kenda Tires swim? I already know they will eat mud.

                    Colbalt,

Could you post some pictures of your Argo Frontier with the Kenda Executioner tires on it ? I,ve read many great reveiws about this tires durabilty, reasonably priced, smooth ride for a mud tire , ability to sling off mud and clay because of the wide spacing of the tire lugs. Thie only question that now remains is, will it swim? Inquiring minds want to know.

                      MightmaxIV & Mudbug.

The 26"executioners swim almost as well as the original Argo 24" . However i can only make that claim for 26" as there is no longer much room between the tires and little to no water get's thrust upward.

Steering is a tad more sluggish than the argo tires.

I do sometimes have a branch or rock get caught between the tires so i put a think piece of metal on the tires wells.

As for mud slinging , marsh, muskeg, rock, gravel roads . The executioners remind me of argo tracks.

I use executioners on my atv, and utvs and are very saticefied with the lifespan and performance.

Lastly. My guess that smaller than 26" executioners on an frontier would not swim well due to the larger spacing. On my 6wd utv the executioners at the rear throw up a-lot of water.

On a scale of 1 to 10 over the original argo tires. I give the executioners about an 8.3 amphibious wise due to the steering lag. Land wise, 100% improvement over the original argo tires.

At 6 psi it tore up rocky hills.

                        Cobalt,

Thats the answer that MightymaxIV and myself wanted to hear! I really thought that the Executioner tires might swim because of the extra wide spacing between the tire lugs. Sort of like a mini paddle wheel? Thanks for the quick response.

Thanks for the reply, they look like awesome tires-Please don't tell Georgia Mud bug about them, cuz he'll have them on his frontier and be kicking my behind next time I see him at Doles

The one other thing that should be mentioned about the executioners.

The executions tread (teeth) have a slight smooth forward taper. Which causes the mud to curl off , as will water and not be carried like a 90 deg squared tread.

My preferred tires are the Kenda Executioner, and the Interco Swamplite. For the price, performance and lifespan.

There is another brand/model of tire and better than ASX . However they are very expensive.

It's called Power Grip Mud B*itch.

The third video has the best examples of the MB performance.
