  • just got my "shortbus" few newbie questions and observations!

hi i just picked up an argo avenger 8x8 750 efi 2 days ago , my face hurts so much from grinning from ear to ear !!!
from what ive been reading here there is a learning curve to running this machine and i have to agree with that,
i was however slightly disapointed that when the track < rubber ones> get really wet and i try to go up a real steep hill or big mound to get out of the water< not floating deep> the tires spin inside the tracks, ive been told by people that this is normal , i did notice this argo came with 24 inch tires and not 25 inchers that there soposed to come with , i have yet to phone the dealer and ask him about that , but iam wondering if there is a reason for that ?
maybe i should put the rear chains on for the back tires?
have to love this thing though, had 4 buddies in it for a ride , and we came across two quaders that had broke down , and gave them a ride out !! wow !!!
just an observation or two , the tracks dont swim at all , easyr to turn in reverse , better to make sure you have a straight shot through some rough stuff rather try to turn in the loon sh*t and lose power to one track ,,and i find better to move forward a bit get it moving then make it"skid" to steer
sorry for the long post but i am just so damm HAPPY!!!!

yes if you are having trouble with tire slippage then put the all the chains back on ,it should fix the prob, if it doesnt put a little more air in the tires to tighten the track some more
He who has not cruised the back country in a 6x6 , has not lived life to it's fullest
A Mans level of mechanical education directly corresponds to the level pain suffered while getting it

You should get the proper tires from the dealer, the tracks will be too long with the smaller tires. Avengers should have 25" rubbers.
