Pain in the ARSSS, I once had to remove the oposite axle to insert a pipe long enough to reach through & hammer the stuck one out, labor intensive but worked. Good luck.

You sure you have all the set screws backed off ? Could be a case where there's more than one.

Rather than remove the opposite axle can you fabricate a slide hammer (dent puller) onto the wheel flange and drive it out this way?

Have you undone the lock collar that locates the sprocket in place ?

wrap a good heavy decking chain around hub.give yourself a foot or so of slack then whip the chain.this works good when removing auto motive axles.i had troubles removing the axles in my argo but i had the shell split and the engine removed.had to beat the bejesus out of axle with a sledge hammer and big brass drift.

Also a slide hammer will be quiet helpful. If you don't have one you can rent one from parts house.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways , cigar in one hand, whiskey in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!!!"

Thats sucks about your modeling career! Hope you are ok. Sometimes when you figure all the time wasted trying to remove something like that, it is best to just hack it off and buy a new one. Glad you got it. Hopefully you will be on the trails again soon!
