I enjoyed the video,s Dan. Each time that you drove on the built up section of trail, and then looked over all of the swampy areas on the opposite side, I kept thinking that you,d soon drive down that side too.

wow!........im thinkin your new nickname probably ought to be somthing like "Crazy Dan".......but, if there was an award for cool places to play, i think you would probably have it in the bag.....watching it does make me a little nervous though...if you ever ran out of gas out there im pretty sure that they would never be able to get to you...actually, im not sure they would even be able to find you, lol...in addition to the GPS, you'd better be packin a lunch, have a cell phone and charger, and maybe even a few signal flares...just looking out for ya buddy!!!
awsome videos Dan!

We may have a new 6x6 fan
My granddaughters always ask me to give them a ride on my quad when they come over. Yesterday I was watching some river run videos, my granddaughter came in and said "Who's that?" I told her it was Lee. "Hey he has a machine just like yours."
She asked for a ride in the Argo and told me she wanted to go through the mud like she had seen in the video, I drove her and the Argo down to the corner store, bought her an icee. On the way back back we went down a dirt road and she kept saying faster and then would laugh as I sped up . I drove back home and drove her through my very muddy, low on water pond.
I even got my wife to jump in with us and ride for a little bit. Needless to say we now have another 6x6 fan in the family.

The Avenger would be a perfect swap for the Adair tracks, the old style transmission is proven and reliable and you can use the low range without over heating the transmission. If you check out the River Run Videos you will see an old style Bigfoot with Adair tracks and 22x10x8 tires. That machine was unstoppable in the mud, and his 18 horse engine with low range ate mud holes without water
An Avenger with Adair tracks would be a beast! Your machine would swim! You couldn't get it stuck! It would turn easier than an Avenger with tires and the tracks are easier on your bearings and axles. Look at any of the the River Run Videos to see how easy old style machines turn with these tracks.
If you use the 25x12x9 rawhides you will have almost twelve inches of clearance, if you ever manage to get an Avenger with Adair tracks stuck I would like to see a picture of the mud hole or swamp area.
An 8x8 with Adair tracks just will not run out of traction and I have had three different 8x8 owners tell me they perform exceptionally well in the snow.
One owner with a set of the 22" snow tracks has posted video on you you tube-He ran his machine over 20 MPH on 22" of powder!
Just personal opinion but I believe that you have the finest machine you can get for running Adair tracks and I would not hesitate.Last edited by mightymaxIV; 04-08-2011, 05:55 PM.

Some Video of my 650 HD -a day in the swamp with my grandsons
Video was taken the 30th of April 2011, a couple of spots don't have sound, I don't know why, I processed the video three times.
The temperature was 86 degrees yesterday and some pretty extreme mud and swamp conditions. I had an absolute blast with my grandsons Carlos and Emanuel. Having the hood off really helped keep everything in the engine compartment cool and the machine ran like a top all day.
I had to cut some of the extreme terrain because the camera was shaking so bad you couldn't see anything
The good and bad points of Admiral Adimral have been discussed several times-this is what I know.
I have put this new HD through more abuse than my max and haven't had any maintenance issues other than lubing the chains, and changing the oil in the engine and transmission.
I have about 40 hours of extreme riding without a problem (Other than the Briggs running rich because of emissions standards)
The Argo's reliability gives me confidence to go into places with my grandsons I wouldn't go in any other machine
The Admiral transmission is almost perfect for the type of riding I do with this machine refusing to get stuck under the most adverse conditions.
If you watch the video you will see several spots when the machine was in extreme mud and we were sure we were stuck, we simply slowed down and let the machine work it's way out, I have never seen another machine that will simply keep working and finally pull it's way out of a mud hole that appears to have won the battle.
Hope you enjoy!Last edited by mightymaxIV; 05-01-2011, 12:34 PM.
