  • 07 Avenger or???

    Hi all.
This is my first thread to post, as a new member to the site.
I was checking up on parts an such at the local Dealers {I need a lot of em} so I took a tour through the showroom and got to talking to a sales guy about how much to update my old 97 8x8 Response tires, brgs, sprockets, rear brg extension's, bigger engine clutch mod, Tracks etc added up to roughly about 8 to 10 g. not counting sweat equity.

Anyhow he directs me out back to a 2007 avenger 750efi with 97 hrs 18" rubber tracks, 4k warn, bushguard, handrails taillights. for a measly $17k .

Now I was thinking about spending about 14k on a new Ranger 6x6. and doing just the nessesary repairs to my old girl so she'd be there for the tough er wet/sloppy jobs

So what are your thoughts on this? which way should I go and is that a reasonable price for my region Alberta Canada

Sorry for the long winded tale

I don't know current exchange rates, but it does seem a little high to me. Is the dealer willing to negotiate the price?
Check out Ebay 2011 ARGO 750 HDi 8x8 ATV UTV AMPHIBIOUS on eBay.ca (item 390300502063 end time 31-Mar-11 19:56:57 EDT)
A 2007 is 4 years old....and gets older every day it sits on the dealer lot!

That is for a plain jane machine... My '08 was $27K when it was all said I done (I think)...Tracks, winch, rear receiver, hand rail kit, bilge pump, outboard bracket, tail lights..

I concur... With the options listed and low hours that is a good price...

For canada, yeah that 17K seems like a good price. Try to get dealer to give a 30 day warranty........bad bearings or leaking seals would sour the deal for you.

I think the price is high on both the upgrade quote for the Responce, as well as the price on the Avenger. Not terrible, but not great either.

Well right or wrong I decided to upgrade the old girl.
Thanks for all the reply from everyone.

Once the wife cuts me loose from lawn and garden work I can tear into her.

And yes RD you are right about the inflated rebuild cost on my Response, it was the justification amount I flung at the wife to make the 07 Avenger seem a better deal and bolster the why I need this thing proposa.l
