Just Ordered a 2008 Argo Avenger

it is costing me 24k. I ordered the rubber tracks because i have read they are much smoother and better in the snow.

What kind of price are you given for it ? It has everthing that I want on mine. Why did you go with rubber tracks, I was thinking of going with the super tracks. I have a 2003 conquest 8x8 with reg. tracks on it. I am going to sell it and then start looking real hard for a 08 avenger. Thanks Cougar

Speed

No my Avenger is the 2007 The 2008 gets a new hand pulled parking break. I will be pleased to hear how that works. Did your Maxiv have the 26" tires? Mine is a tad faster than 20 mph with the 25 hp. I think the 25 s got a higher speed clutch like the 27 and 29s. After you get used to the tranny you will like the Avenger for sure. I miss the T 20 but the Avenger is so stable, so easy to go down steep hills,goes up short steep hills a 6 wheeler couldn't and swims like a barge on steroids. See u-tube-Big birds Argo.

Congratulations on the purchase, that is one bad ride! Definitely post up some pictures when you get it.

As for your Max IV I'm surprised it only went 20. My Max IV is a couple of MPH faster than my Max II and it has the 18hp.

Top Speed of Avenger

Kovac- I think maybe our Avengers are a tad slower on the top end compared to a 25 horse air cooled Max iv- but its close and when you open the efi up it takes off like a Brama bull, I love it. I think maybe you can see trees shiver as you go by. I didn,t get the tracks or plow this year but I am all set to mount an outboard when the spring comes. Happy riding.

I just ordered a new 08 avenger today. I ordered it with the rubber tracks, windshield, top, alt kit, and the 31hp efi. I have always like the look of the argos. I owned a 2000 max4 back in 2000. I sold it in 02. I di like it alot but at the time had to get rid of it. I went to test drive the new avenger and had to have one. I know they are limited slip, but with some expirence i'm sure it will get me anywhere I want to go. there are 6 of us in the family so I needed the room. One question I have is how fast do the 31hp machines go. I have never heard anyone mention the speed.
