    1993 Argo Magnum 8 X 8

Well folks, After waiting 10 weeks to go after the Argo I finally got it. It wasn't running when I bought it and was looking at putting a new engine in it, but after getting it home I realized that it only had 287 hours on it. I replaced the ignition coil and it fired right up. Runs pretty good considering it hasn't been started in two years. I pulled the floors up and to my surprise no rust at all everything was well lubed and looked new. Sorry no pic's yet I Will try to get some over the next couple days. It was always stored inside and other then some dirt very good shape. Everything works too, including the winch. Well it does have a cracked headlight that doesn't work.
    See ya later

I have a 92 Magnum and the only issue that I would raise would be alternator output. In my area I know of several Kohler 18 hp twins which had stator failures. Personally both my 87 Kohler and my current 92 Kohler had that problem. With the 93, I believe you can mount a small alternator over the emergency start pulley and use that pulley to drive the alternator. Even with the Kohler alternator working it rarely provides enough juice to run the winch if used a lot. Otherwise it seems you have quite a nice machine. Congratulations....................Don

Sorry folks about the late response. Lost my INTERNET for a few days and other unrelated issues. Headed home to Kentucky from SC Thursday night and lost oil pressure pulled over shut it down, restarted oil pressure OK but loud noise in engine, took to a mechanic Friday morning need a new engine, 545 miles from home, ARRRG. I guess I can't complain to much 2001 Dodge Durango, with 272,000 miles on it. Time for another one.
Well, I got home Friday night in a 2004 Chevy Avalanche.
Now, back to the Argo, I rebuilt the rear seats and will be taking them back to SC with me in the morning. Does anyone know where I can get a OEM windshield for it?
Thanks for the information but it seems to be charging fine right now.

            Well folks,
I finnally took the ArGO for my first ride today, It was a blast. No mud or water but it was to make sure everything was working and it worked great. There does seem to be a slight learning curve to driving one of these things. It's easy until you need to react quickly and I almost ended up in some shrubs and trees. LOL
One issue did come up, The engine oil temp started going extremly high but the engine didn't seem that hot. I pulled the dipstick out and it wasn't hot at all including the oil on it. Could it be just the sensor going bad?
Also here are a couple pic,s of my new to me toy.

            Take care all
            Bob

Does any one no where I can pick up a windshield

That machine looks to be in pretty nice shape. Congrats

Your axles are on 24" centers, so you can put the 24" Frontier Tires on it. BUT, they are a VERY tight fit. Also, their quality control leaves a bit to be desired. There can be several inches difference in diameter with Frontiers. It's a bit of a Crap Shoot on what you will get when ordering a set. I've seen a few that are just too big to go on.

                              RD,
Thanks for the information, I may just stay with the size I have. i would hate to pay out that much cash just to have tires I couldn't use. I was just thinking I could gain some ground clearance but not sure it would be worth the gamble. Thanks again

                              Bucky,
Glad to hear that you like your Magnum so well and you are still able to keep the wifey happy. That's not easy under the best circumstances.
I'm not sure how my beloved wife is going to react yet. I have it in SC with me and she is in KY at my home. LOL I'll just tell her it followed me home, LOL, She should be use to me doing things like this we have been married for about 38 years now. LOL
                              Thanks again and take care.
