2006 Argo Avenger with T20

This weekend was a lot of moving the T20 and Engine in and out as I finalized the fresh air intake and bolted all of the clutches on. I had to mill several more slots into the engine mounting plate so that it would allow me to have some adjustment for the placement of the fresh air intake. Once I got those done I had to make a couple of spacers to raise the fresh air intake up a fraction of an inch to center it on the motor.
Here are a few more photos of the fresh air intake:
While I had the T20 out one last (yeah right) time I took another photo of it on the T20:
I started to mock up the firewall with a piece of cardboard just to see what I would need to do. I plan on creating the firewall out of HDPE. I was hoping to just use a flat sheet but the cardboard template showed me a couple of places that will have to be cut out and built up to allow room for the CVT and some of the shifter linkage.

Great work Mike.... Are you going to need to have a LOT more clearance for the clutch and the linkage, or can you do the heat-and-press method of going 3D? I like how "down" is still "forward" on the shifters.sigpic

Really fine looking work Mike! This is going to be one unique machine!Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways , cigar in one hand, whiskey in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!!!"

Hey I know I mentioned in jest that I hadn't seen an Avenger on the trailer at Busco, yet I don't think I asked how the Toxic Avenger (if you haven't named it yet, I dub thee) was coming along.sigpic
My new beer holder spilled some on the trails - in it's hair and down it's throat.
Joe Camel never does that.

A few weeks before Busco, I devoted my time to my Max IV and rebuilding it with new sprockets, splined axles, bearings, chain, etc so I haven't touched the Argo in the past month. However, since I last posted, I have the engine wired up and ready to go. My biggest hold-up right now is the throttle cable. I was dealing with Motion Industries for a custom cable. After telling me that they don't/won't make them for a Briggs motor, I told them that I would worry about mating it up to the Briggs if they would just provide me with certain fittings that they already offer for other throttle cables. They agreed and sent me a drawing to approve. I marked up the drawing with the necessary measurements and made a couple of modifications that same day. I emailed it back to them and waited a couple of weeks... nothing. So I emailed to check on the progress...no response. So I thought perhaps my email address was being blocked. I emailed from a different address... nothing again. I called and couldn't get anybody to help me. I understand if you don't want to do this kind of work but don't tell me you are going to help me out, and then just not respond. Worthless!
Anyway, I've got to come up with a throttle cable next. I have been working on the Avenger in my small storage shed and need to get the throttle cable hooked up so I can move it out and take it to my dad's shop to start welding the exhaust. I really don't have much left to do but just haven't taken the time to finish it up. I was going to mess with it some this weekend but it's so nice out I had to go out and play.
You should see an Avenger on the trailer at Busco in October.

Max II cable under trans and power pack to front of engine? Did you try the factory cable though the firewall? Someone had just posted a Bando cable ext/adapter last week or 2.sigpic
