Where can I find a wiring diagram for a 1988 Argo magnum. The motor is not keeping battery charged while running the lights.

You need to stop by beaverdamargo. Scroll down a ways and you'll find a service manual download and a link to the parts manual library. Grab the parts manual for your machine.

Charging problem
I have had an intermittent charging problem and traced it back to the resettable breaker , first of all check that you have 12v power going to the rectifier , yes you need to have power going to it for it to work , 2nd step make sure the engine has a good ground and 3rd clean the contacts on the rectifier and the wire ends , a little corrosion can do funny things . use you volt meter to determine if you have any charging power at the battery , when you raise the engine speed you should see an increase on the meter reading if not check for 12v going to your fuse block if you have voltage then move to the breaker that feeds the rectifier , power on both sides of it , if you get no reading while checking both sides of it , you found your problem if you have voltage follow the wire up to the rectifier and check and clean all the connections , rectifiers rarely fail , good luck and I hope it helps you out . remember those old style self resetting breakers do ware out , replace it with a modern one , I don't think you can even find those old style one anymore.
