I will have to spend some time to check it out.....If the wiper will scratch the lexan then I may have to go with safety glass as a wiper is a must here in Newfoundland....All this fog ansd mist we get here I would have to stop pften just to clean off the window.....
5 minutes with a wiper on, and you won't be able to see a damn thing. Just the salt in the air will scratch the crap out of it. Save your money.

Thanks for the input there RD....I am leaning to safety glass....I use my window alot here and go through trails where the limbs are always hitting the window.....If wipers will scratch then I am sure the trees will do even more damage.....I think it was a freak thing when the window broke....Been up that trail many times before that day and nothing happened.....Just a colder morning and hitting the "sweet" spot was enough....I am sure people had glasss in their machines for years without incident....Just have to take the frame off and get it to a glass shop.....

After almost 2 years with my glass broken I finally decided to take it to a glass shop and have a new safety glass installed. Was quoted $120 plus the gov share of tax...Got to love that tax man.....Just my luck that my other half just started working at the glass shop doing upholstery work so I got her to ask about the glass. Got it done for $80 bucks..Got to love family discounts.....

I'm thinking of doing glass myself. I have plexi and it's starting to warp from the exaust when down. Glad to hear you finally got it fixed. And yes family discounts are the best.

another possibility, mcmaster carr sells abrasion-resistant clear polycarbonate sheets. different sizes and thicknesses. rated excellent impact strength. 2'x4' sheet, 1/4'' thick is around $ 120.00. easy to cut with a jigsaw. hope this helps. johnboy va.
