The extensions are different for different years. If you find Rock Doctor's threads about the HD bearing conversion you will find some discussion of this. I think it is somewhere around 2001 where the extensions went from not being straight up HD bearing compatible. But, since the bearing has come out and the conversion has started to happen people have put together adapter kits that I think work on nearly any Argo.

Send a personal message to the user by the name Obsessed and ask him - he has just such a conversion kit and I believe you will not need to replace the extensions.

I have one of these conversion kits from "Obsessed", although I have not had a chance to install it in my second machine ('98 Conquest). It all looks good, just have to find some time.
Did not need a conversion kit in my '04.

If you don't want to get the conversion kit, you can have your existing extensions machined out to accept the new HDI inner bearing carrier.

Just have a look at the front or rear extensions on your machine, if there are 2 gaskets in there with an inner bearing carrier between, you don't need a conversion kit. If there is one gasket between the outer bearing carrier and the bearing extension, then you need a conversion or you can machine the extension out to fit.
