  • Well I did it

I broke down and bought some of those magic Adair tracks for my Conquest. They say other than getting high centered you can't get stuck so I am looking foward to the challange.

Congratulations! Get those baby's mounted up and hit the mud. You will not believe how effortlessly you drive through muck that would before have left you spinning your tires. You also will stay a lot cleaner.

I noticed that the people with tracks have some kind of fender flair that sticks out the side of the Argo above the tracks. I assume this is to keep the wider tracks from slinging mud into the argo?? What are you guys making these out of???

How wide did you go with the tracks?
I could be way off with this thought, but I "believe" that you could probably use the plastic Mudflap/flare's that mount in pickup wheel wells. Another option would be to just cut some 1/8" UHMW Plastic to make a set as long/wide as you want.

I have no clue, I thought all Adair tracks are the same width. I do have some UHMV, we use it on the bottom of our airboats.

Standard width will be 14" wide for your Conquest, and you can go up in 2" incriments from there.
UHMV? What does the V stand for? My guess is it would work fine, but you don't want it too thick. I would not go over 1/8" for that application

PM Obsessed. Tim has some very simple flares that attach to the back under-body and he will most likely know exactly what size you need. Otherwise I think Mike who manages this site does something with conveyor belting on his machines.

lol, ok. Might be the same stuff I use on my Jetboat bottom (UHMW, Ultra High Molecular Weight)

You can buy the stock ones from your local Argo dealer or hit the farm parts store and get a few feet of baler belting.

You are right I am wrong, I looked it up and it is uhmw. I don't know why I thought it was uhmv but when I am wrong I will admit it. ;-)

The waiting is murder!!!!!!!!! I cant wait to get my tracks!!!!! There is this real nasty black water swamp bottom near my house and if I even get close to it I get stuck. The second I get my tracks I am going to drive right into the middle of it. If they can get me across this stuff they will go any place.

When you finally get the Adair tracks installed on your 8x8 you'll constantly be amazed at where you can take you Argo with out getting stuck. If you ever get into a muddy situation where you're hardly moving forward or maybe not at all, let off of the throttle and this will allow the tracks to sink down into the mud. You can then open the throttle slowly and move forward in the very same area that you thought you were stuck in.

I sure hope you are right because there are a couple of nice size gators in the swamp area and a bunch of snakes. I plan on collecting all the bullfrogs as soon as I can get in there and cooking me up a mess of frog legs.
