You are one of a kind! I'm really awed by what you are doing here and the reason you are doing it. Keep it up! I know you are as excited about having this so Brandon can ride with you as he is about having it to ride. Ya know what... this makes me even MORE proud that you got the Big Block, you DESERVE it!

Thanks for the kind words brushcutter,I'm sure you would do the same. This is the little cabin i built across the driveway for brandon as a temporary place. It is one very large room with a fully tiled handicap accessible bathroom and a large closet.I built this by myself with my cousin as a part time helper while he was in rehab for the 4 months. It also has a 12x16 covered and screened back porch.

Sweet, I really like the screened porch idea, especially with Mr West Nile hitching rides with the mosquitoes. Have any cases been reported in your area? There was a case about 5 miles from our place, really makes me nervous, so we make sure the kids dose down with spray every time they go to the woods to play. Also the pesky little devils (mosquitoes) invade the shop and will eat your legs off at the ankles if you aren't careful.

It looks like you have made great progress! I haven't been around lately, so I'm pleased to see you're following thru with your build.

What motor did you go with?

Here is a couple more pictures. This is what the hood is going to look like but i have to make another one,That one came up a little short.I made the firewall and cut out the back part of the rear seats.I think it looks much roomier.I did get to test ride it today and i would have to say the duramax motor is a fairly strong motor. With the rear end being lighter it turns on a dime.I will get a video tomorrow,If i can get someone to help????????

Looks good, Roy. Video will be great so we can see it from all angles.

I might be trading a vertical shaft engine I have for a rebuilt Kohler Command Pro 25hp. Seeing your progress makes me want to get started on mine. I need to keep the cost down so I'm going to trade or sell what I can to get the job done.

That sounds like a great trade. You can spend alot of money on doing this type of a project.I was missing alot of stuff on this machine so i had to make alot of it.I made one of the axles out of a hustler axle and run a single 50 chain on the front right side,Working good so far.I'm not trying to make a fancy show machine just something funtional.I wish i where closer i would be glad to help you out.

                      • Looks like you're coming right along! Love the swivel seat and slider! Now if you can figure how to waterproof it, he can drive into his favorite fishing hole, slide to the rear and have an unobstructed fishing platform.

Thanks,In his condition i don't think getting into deep water would be a wise move.I have sealed the bottom of the frame where it comes through the tub and plan on making a tail gate to keep the mud out.I still have alot to do.

                          • Had to relocate the gas tank,After riding it for 30 minutes the gas was boiling inside the tank and forcing gas through the vent tube out the filter. The new racing seat and harness came in today.I'm getting real close,The tubing for the laterals have been ordered and should be in the first of the week. All i have left is taillights and headlights and make the laterals to fit his needs then i will be done.....

                            • Looks really good Roy. I'm anxious to see video of it running.

Do you have any issues with the chains hitting the metal floor? Is the body as stiff as it was before you cut out the back or does the roll cage help with that?

I used 1" square tube to raise the floor to clear the chains. The roll cage helped but i added extra braces that are not in the last pictures and i added a windshield, winch and square headlights. The main thing i have left is to raise the laterals to fit him and a longer throttle cable.I will take some video soon.
