bigfoot=cancelled, was 18 hp. briggs, great machine.
Frontier= new, replaces bigfoot and vanguards. Much newer technology
available 23 hp briggs with massive alternator output, new single stick steering, way better body shape (approach and departure angles), compleyely new ,too many improvements to think of, drilled brake discs, doesn,t require a cooling fan, last year= fabulous emergency hand brake, 2008 = same and hand parking brake. Frontier tires=First Branded by or for Argo vehicle specific aatv tire made on standard rim. Not bigger than bigfoot tire but softer riding and goes like stink in the water. Brandon Price says good in snow too. Go to Argo web site.

When the bigfoot was new they came with more standard options that people would usually add to the basic model! The skid plate, the larger size tire, 18HP B&S Vangaurd Engine, There were a few other thing's that I can't remember! It's still a great machine, I only wish for the newer steering!

has anybody looked into a steering upgrade? I'm not sure there is such a thing but it would be great. I would buy one!!

I have had a few short conversation's with a tech at ODG about changing to the newer steering! It's possible, but some of the bracket's, and framing will have to be modified, and fabricated. Thank's for reminding me that I need to fallow up on this. He's supposedly getting a list of parts to gether for me. That way i can look at the total cost of doing the swap!

Wow, I'm surprised you guys want to swap. I could care less about it. Greg Orr retrofitted a newer argo to the older sticks, 'cause you can do things the handlebar can't. In my opinion, the handlebar steering came about to attract new buyers as it's easier to drive from day one.. everyone knows what to do with handlebars. I would suggest anyone with sticks to make the adjustment to take out all the extra slack.

Hey Greasemonkey, If you could upgrade the steering would it be possible to convert to the new drilled disc brakes and eliminate the fan?

Probably not, Philip, as they are larger Dia. and part of the newer transmission. Of course, anything is possible. I think the 8x8 frontier went back to a disc cooling fan.

I guess the handle bars would limit you some compared to the sticks. I can't think of any way right this minute but anyway I just came from a quad so I'm used to the handle bars still. Its all about what you are the best at. SETH

I went from a quad to the new Frontier and for the first few outings I struggled with jerky driving. I had to adjust after relying on my armstrong steering on my Kawasaki. I love the skid steer now! I have almost 100hours on 2008 already and it is as smooth as butter!

I have the handlebar steering on my Bigfoot and I love it. I can hold on to my kids with my left arm while driving with my right or a cold one if my kids aren't with me.

McCoy, did you convert your bigfoot or was it done when you got it? Can you get pics of the conversion? Seth

                              Seth,

Mine is not a conversion, it came from the factory with the handlebar steering.
