Found a KILLER website!!!! DO NOT get a winch if i does not say "water proof and all metal gears". Synthetic rope is great... untill it gets sopping wet and froze together... Probably not a prolem down in the SC. Your a silly goose if you dont get a tera 3500 from super winch for 160 bucks and then do the REALLY smart thing and get a blue top optima from sams club or Costso, about another 150 bucks. You can always upgrade some day to the BIG BAD warn and put the 3500 super winch on the back of the argo for what ever you want to use it for (4 wheeler extractor maybe?)

I have bought this winch befor from thesee guys, im very satisifed. I think if you in the lower 48 it is fr

ee shiping too. 110 for a 3000 pound super winch aint all bad at all

and the winch i just bought:

    3500# tera super winch 158

    Building Supply Plus: Store Home

    4500# 186 american

    Building Supply Plus: Store Home

Just look around the "material handeling section" it will give you an idea of what is available. They also have cheap and good snatch blocks. Good luck, oh and if you go the tera route, all of the spools on the winches can use synthetic rope, you just have to change the fairlead which is probbably only like 50 to 80 bucks on down the line

    good luck!

Got a new battery from my local Napa. Who would have figured that it take the same size as a Honda Civic? Anyway.. 590CA, 475CCA. That should have plenty of power for starting and winching.
