waynef570 if you could post a pic here it would help, the link you posted didn't work for me. Couple questions, is it hard or soft body? is there anything left of the original stripes? the stripes are the main identifier of the 2nd and 3rd gen attex, is it a 6 chain or 4 chain? does the muffler exit the side of the body?

My new beer holder spilled some on the trails - in it's hair and down it's throat.
    Joe Camel never does that.

Advice is free, it's the application that costs.

OK I just got your link to work. You have a HDPE (poly body) Attex, most likely a Superchief or Tomahawk. The engine isn't original, but it's still going to make for a fast machine. That's a great 6 wheeler you have there, and you got a great deal on it! Welcome to the site.

i made it public today had it set to private sorry. it has a 2stroke arctic cat 500cc engine made by suzuki 1978 im having fuel problems gas is coming out the side of carb basically flooding and i did buy a new mikuni fuel pump as indicated for the engine, new fuel line and all. it is hooked into the vaccum port on the engine and is correctly hooked up. should the pump be flat, above the carb or below any ideas?

whats the best way to post pics on here? the original exhaust exited out the right side and i believe its six chain. ive seen the all kinds of attex 6x6s but none with my style seat? and im pretty sure by the vin its a 1973 it has a plastic gas tank. ive read they came metal.

id also be curious if there are any safe places to ride in pa and/or know if there are any people here and get together with them to ride .
        thanks

When I saw the seat I thought mustang bottom mounted for a backrest.

it's probably actually a dark green bottom, not black. What Jim was saying is that it looks like the bottom seat cushion to a Mustang that somebody is using as the backrest. that's not the original seat for your machine.

Right Mike, wayne chheck into Mines and Meadows, I don't recall the town but they are off exit 13 of 76 off route 18 if I remember right. You will need insurance and registration to ride, there is an event there in July and there is a thread in the trail rides section.

It's not a 1973, it's poly (HDPE) plastic so this is a 1976 or newer machine. The lower body is actually not black, it's dark olive green. The poly body Attexes could be ordered with green bottoms/yellow tops, all yellow, or all green. It's not a 6 chain machine either, it's a 4 chain. All 1973 and newer Attexes were 4 chain. The seat isn't original, it's just something put on there, and the engine isn't original either. The original engine for a Superchief is a Chaparral 484cc G50B.
