I am working on an old 297 and I am having trouble with the engine mount. The one I have looks home made and doesn't seem to fit the correct way. Does anyone have a pic or have a mount for this machine? When I put the engine in the exhaust hits the back of the machine where the cover mounts.

Does your exhaust slope down like this?

Here is the mount (upside down and crosswise laying on the frame rails).

My new beer holder spilled some on the trails - in it's hair and down it's throat.

That is the mount that I have. My exhaust just come out and curves to the left, it does not slope down. Thanks for the pics, that really helps.

I'll look to see if the manifold is any good, are you running the stock belt?

Here is a oriented picture showing slight down turn, manifold is not good though.

You may need to slide the trans and engine forward and replace the short chains to gain clearance.
