Nice. Really like the header.
What do you do for the crankcase ventilation on these motors? I am running the stock set up; but it does not keep up with the new pressure created from running at 5-6k rpm, and blows oil. I installed a small filter which helped a little, but it is still a problem.
Briggs uses a one way valve in their smallblocks, sort of a reed valve type thing. I don't think they want open vents due to both pistons moving up and down at relativly the same time. When the topic comes up at E.C. they usually say use the stock stuff and a catch can, that is, run the filter you have into a remote container, that has a basin for collecting oil, with a drain cock perhaps. And a way for it to breath out the top. If your ring seal is perfect there is no problem, supposedly. I did a catch can, as mine was plumbed into the air cleaner and has always spit oil on the air filter. You can google catch can at E.C. and find a pic.

Whipper, I just joint a week or so ago, but this thread caught my attention. I have to say this is a VERY impressive project. I always have enjoyed racing anything I can get my hands on, and this looks like FUN. I would love it if more 6x6s get into racing, I used to race a Honda TRX 250X, but this looks like even more fun. Sorry, but 4 wheelers can be fun, (if deep water/mud is not involved) I am restoring a 295 wild wolf, hardly a race machine, but this gives me ideas for when I can grab a good body and tranny, I'll make the rest (Except the suspension, that's a little intimidating). I hope you do offer a kit in the future, and I hope I have the money at that time

I JUST put the eurypterid decal (a Silurian "sea scorpion") on the 503. (Now she and I are similarly branded...) I thought it fit the 503's reputation well. She does swim fairly well, afterall...
