Have you adjusted the transmission pucks? There are adjustment studs on the back of the calipers. Loosen the 9/16 lock nut and turn the stud in with a 3/16 Allen wrench to the point where the play is out but the disc still turns when the stick is in the neutral (centered) position. If the pucks are in good enough shape, you'll be able to adjust the excessive movement out of the sticks.

No, you should be able to adjust everything in place. If you have to replace the pucks, the transmission shaft will have to be removed.

That's a shame. The best results I've had were with the pucks that Richard Clark sells. I'll get you dimensions when I get home tonight, but you want a very hard brake material to make your own.

I use the medium non metallic brake lining from Mcmaster Carr. 5/16" thick. 7x7 sheet i think. I use 1 1/2 hole saw and grind down to 1 3/8 or 5/16 diameter, can't remember which.

well i got my brakes adjusted ALOT better. now i gotta put a pin in some of the axle sprockets, because the axle is just turning in the sleeve and not locking up the wheels
