  • Axles conversion

how do i go about converting the 3/4" axles with the square ends that i have now,to the newer style 1" axles. what do i all need to do this and can you mis match them, like if i were to replace the back wheel's with 1" axels and sprokets, and keep the front 3/4"?

      Hey guys,
To convert over to the newer first gen. 1" axles you will need the axle and the outer bearing with flange. The inner bearing is the same because the 3/4" axle sprocket tubes go in the inner bearing so its big enough to work for the 1" axle. You will also need 1" sprocket tubes and 1" wheel hubs. The 3/4" hubs are part of the axle. The same little allen bolts are used both models. So once you get the parts its just a matter of swapping them. No machining/fabing or anything.

So to sum it up, you need

-the 1" axle and outer bearing with flange
      -the 1" pinned/bolted wheel hub
      -the 1" pinned/bolted sprocket tube

Hi little ford, You might be better off with the bigger axles in front. They're the ones that hit the rocks first. My 2 cents. Good luck Mike D

I put 1.25" axles in my Attex Li'l Truck because I got tired of fixing the one inch axles. Whipper made everything I needed (axles, sprockets, hubs). They're very strong. It sounds like it's more work than the conversion Larry suggested but I can assure you that you'll make up the time in repairs in the long run.

I have never had any 1" axle problems. Must be because its on a lighter 1st gen machine? I dont normally tread lightly either. Maybe Im lucky.

that's ok Larry, I average you out. I think I've only been on 3 rides where I didn't bend any axles. i ran my racer for a grand total of 8 minutes at the last Busco ride and killed both fronts. the Wolf faired a little better that trip. no bent axles, but i broke one. Whippers axles are on the "someday list"

take your axle supper heat them red hot and drop them in hydro oil then you wont bend them as often
