Glad to hear it moves, McCoy! Just wait til you get it dialed in just right and can really test its limits.......that's quite the feeling when you're piloting a high horsepower 2 stroke with only two sticks and a hand throttle!

Any progress on the jetting this afternoon?

Well, finally got in an assortment of jets and after about 5 tries, I think I finally got the jetting dialed in. It seems as though I'm having some issues with the driven clutch fully engaging @ low rpm because it takes about 1/8th of a mile for the g50b to get wound up and start really making some power. But once it winds up, I have some wicked top-end speed. It is a butt-puckering experience on a paved road to say the least. Hopefully, a new clutch spring will help it out.

Keep working McCoy June is not far away.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways , cigar in one hand, whiskey in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!!!"

What color spring are you running now? I'm running a yellow one on my Thunderchief racer and it seems to work very well.......that might be an option to consider.

Well, Finally Motivated Again....Part 2 or Part 3, I can't really remember at this point. Over the past few months, when work has allowed, I yanked the g50b that was in the machine out and pulled my spare down off of the shelf. I figured that I would go ahead & put crank seals in the spare since it was stripped down anyway. Finally got the clutch off of the old engine last week with smoe REDNECK engineering (and NO, I didn't damage the clutch). We finishedd work a few hours early last night, so I finally had a free day. Started out by making a cover for where the starter used to be, bolted on the exhaust manifold, motor mount, etc. Then I decided to put a new yellow spring in a clutch that is rumored to have come from jpswift. With some more REDNECK engineering, the clutch assembly went rather smoothly, I just hope that I got the preload right. Then I heard my neighbor fire up his motorcycle, so I gave him a call to help set the engine in. We got the engine bolted in, clutch on the t-20, belt on, pipe installed, carb on, kill switch wired, checked it for spark (lo and behold, we have fire) and were ready to fire that puppy up. However, it seems as though the Superchief ate a hose clamp that I had to have to hook up the fuel line. We tore apart my shop and even broke in to my neighbor's shop, but couldn't find one anywhere. I picked up one after a trip to a ballgame tonight and hope to light a fire in the Chap this weekend. Wish me luck!

Best of luck with the racer McCoy. Looking forward to seeing you along with the rest of the Carolina Boys and Girls soon.
