          Hey Joe,

It looks like the body is from either a Superchief or Tomahawk. The frame, motor mount (although there appears to be a mod on that), tranny brakes, nose cover and headlights suggest to me Thunderchief or Chief. Either way, nice addition!

Thanks everyone, I never thought I would happen across one of these, let alone in such great shape. Forgot to mention the upper and lower are poly which I seem to have good results working with so far. Lance, no motor now but the 23 hp Kohler that I purchased for the Hustler is going to fit this bill quite nicly from what I see (so far).
This mach was in service within the last year and is very close to being trail ready. Really need only to mount motor with clutch and belt and then spend the rest of the day tinkering and it should be in decent shape. I'm excited about the straight axles, seem more "user friendly" than ones with flanges permanently installed. Gonna have to re-do the wheel hubs from 4 lug to 5 lug sooner or later. Heres a pic of motor, gotta go run dogs w/Lori now

It's a 73 or74 Thunderchief with a poly upper, looks like the inside of the tub is grey which makes it ABS.

I'm not sure it's any one model or a mix of parts and tubs. The lower is dark green and "soft" I'm pretty sure it's poly. May look gray in photos due to dust and cam is a pos also. The rear hatch seems to be different material, "harder" than the upper and lower but not fiberglass, abs? Will abs dissolve in laquer thinner? Are the Attex frames id'd anywhere? Still don't see anything on tubs. Thanks everyone for all the input everyone.Joe

                      Hey JoeMeg,
I believe all attex hoods are abs. As far as I know anyways. Abs will dissolve or soften up with acetone. If it is a green abs body it seems they painted the green on a grey abs. Deep scratches will reveal the gray. Attex has a number code on the back right corner of the frame. There should be 2 larger digits that represents the year. Somewhere on the site there is an attex ID list with the differences and years in the models. I looked and cant find it? Maybe Mike can help or someone else. I checked brochures and literature in the home page and didn't see it. Once that is found you can at least know what the frame is out of.

The poly bodies came with black poly floor pans and engine covers. My experience has been that the ABS engine covers are just a tad too wide to fit properly on a poly top. I'm not sure if there are issues with mixing and matching the floor pans.

My springer has a poly tub and floor pan.

George, I didnt realize they had a poly hood. I knew the form was different from where you should me at Ashtubula. Thats cool as the abs ones seem to crack.

JoeMeg, I found the thread on the attex list.

Actually, JP told me they were not the same size. I was not sure that was really the case until I picked up my spare body (poly) that came with an ABS cover. It would not fit...so, I gave it to you.

Yea, I think I may bring it back to ash for someone else. Im debating on either fixing my original or making a hydromike engine cover. That guy gives me so many ideas, lol! He does great work and comes up with great mods!
