  • Hello 6x6 world i am a virgin when it comes to the 6x6 world. I just got a Sierra Trail Boss Two weeks ago. I found one in my wife's uncles over grown Forrest, no motor, wheels are weathered beyond holding air, missing head and tail lights and the body has a nice crack on the upper back plastic motor cover. But i fell in love with it, it has to be the coolest thing i have ever seen or had the opportunity to own and fix up. SO I WILL PROBABLY BE ASKING FOR A LOT OF HELP AND GUIDANCE please help.!

      • Hello to all the swampbusters:
MY name is Bruce and I'm in Winnipeg Canada.
I'v been having everything from dirtbikes, quads to 1950's and newer landrovers.Heavy into 1960's landrovers.
I have a new interest in argos as we love to go deeper into the back country and so far every other vehicle will
not make it where we need to go.
I am just playing around fixing up what I think is early 1970's 6x6 argo.It has skinny axles,2stroke kohler and is beat, but has potential,
potential to break.I'm interested in learning about the optimum argo.I will always appreciate any comments from any members about the evolution of argos
and at what point in development argo had become very adequate. For example, I know they have gone to the 750 hdi, but is that more reliable than a 2000
conquest with a carborated Kawasaki lc or have they created mor problems that are unfixable in the field?
Well, I have thoroughly enjoyed reading your forum and look forward to hearing from anyone out there.
        Cheers, Bruce

          That was a great comment.

Welcome to the site Bruce. You may want to browse the Argo forum and see what problems others are having and then perhaps start your own thread asking the same questions since not everyone checks this thread.

            • Hey Mason, welcome to the site. Congratulations on your purchase. That Trail Boss should be fun to restore but be careful, six wheelers are just as addictive as three wheelers.

              • Hey Mason you sound like me few yrs back. I had a bunch of 3 wheelers. I slowly traded them off for 6 wheelers.

Good luck with your new trail boss. They are not an aggressive off roader but are really neat machine! Keep us updated. btw member Jeff t-boss can probably help you with any questions.

                • Hey,

My name is Logan I am from Big River Saskatchewan. I have been looking at getting an Argo for hunting, fishing, and just plain fun. The need for an argo came home last weekend when I went out to set up a trail cam in a muskeg and on the trail out I bogged down and managed to winch a couple of decent trees from the ground and break most of the taps that hold the bumper on my quad.

                    • Hi fella's, Iwas just poking around the web and found this site. Looks like a good lace to learn. I just picked up my first 6X6 It is a Hustler. But I have no idea what model. It appears to have a plastic body. The guy I got it from had a 16 hp Vanguard engine to put in it.(No sign of the original engine). And itis missing the engie part of the clutch. That might be a problem. But we will see. I will be posting in the Hustler section soon. Thanks Dennis (RG22lr)

                      • Hey Dennis, welcome to the site. If you can post a picture of your Hustler or link to a picture in the gallery I'm sure someone can identify the model for you. What size tires does it have?

                        • hello everyone!
my name is Heath and i live in Indianapolis, Indiana. i just found an old Attex 6x6 for sale and am supposed to go pick it up sunday or monday. when i started to do some research on it, i came across this site. i had no idea there was such a following for these things!!! this is great!!! i've always wanted a 6x6 since i was a kid, but of course couldn't afford one. the one i'm getting is in non running condition, but the engine isn't stuck and it has good compression. we'll see what happens. i'll head on over to the Attex part of the forum and throw some pics of it up in it's current state.

                          • Hello!
I am new to this type of atv. Have ridden regular atv's in the past. Looking for something different! So here is the big question which one to buy. I have looked at and driven both Max II and Max IV and an Argo and can't decide! They all have their pros and cons. I am leaning towards the max but don’t know which one. So here is your chance to corrupt me!

                            • Heath and Colt 45, welcome to the site. Good luck with your Attex purchase Heath. Colt 45, you've already figured out the most important thing about six wheelers, there isn't one that is better than all of the rest. It all comes down to personal preference and what you are going to use it for. Are you going to buy one new? It's hard to beat the advances in the new Argos but then again a max could be cheaper. I personally prefer the ride comfort and let room of a max II over a max IV and would recommend unless you are looking to haul some gear. Then I would lean towards the max IV. If you are going for a used ATV be sure to check out our used ATV buyers guide in the how-to section of the site. Good luck.

                              • Ceejus, Welcome to the site. Attex rules so you are heading in the right direction already, lol. Just kidding really. Looking forward to seeing it and seeing what model it is. Good luck with it. Any question please ask.

Colt 45, Welcome to the site. I would suggest if you want a play toy to get a max. If you want a work horse get an argo. Argos can play around too though. Maxs are awesome to trail in but they are not as beefy in the frame department as the argo. Just my 2 cents. Either way you cant loose. It will have 6 wheels and go anywhere!!!!
