          • Hi, I just bought a 1998 MaxII 18hp 22'' rawhides,
            Any chain advice?
the front chain on one side sags about 1'' more than the other side.
and also free spinning the passenger side wheels and the chain binds a bit.
I see there is adjustment bolts in the middle.
are they to straighten the sprocket to keep it from binding?
            Any tips for turning?
it seems to be jumpy when I turn it at low speed.
            Thanks

              • Hello everyone. I have read forums and discussions on this site for quite a while but never joined. Now I have!

                I have a 1975 Argo 2 Stroker.

It's my machine to compete in the swamp with my friends 2007 Argo!

                I think 6x6 and 8x8s rule!

                • Welcome to the site and thanks for introducing yourself! How does the old two stroker stack up in the swamp against the newer model?

                  • I haven't tried yet...It wasn't running right---The old tillotson-(you know the problem!) BUT today I got her going GREAT.

I'm not trying her in the swamp until my local argo dealer gets the rounded front hook---24$canadian.--It came with no tow hooks, and the old 3-hole axels arn't strong enough to pull off of.

                    But I can't wait!

Oh, and by the way it's faster than the Frontier too.

It came with Chevron tires--I turned them so they paddeled and not dig but the guy who had it before me put two Duros on the front so I turned them around and put them on the back---All Paddeling---NOT digging!

Any way for an old girl she's in AWESOME shape!

What do you think about the tires---from my experience if the tires arn't paddeling, and digging it just digs down in the swamp, and hang up on the belly, and believe me we go in BAD swamp--I live in NORTHERN Canada.

Happy to be part of the fourms! You guys are great! 6x6s RULE!

                    • I would just run them where they paddle the best to pull you through the parts of the swamp where you will be floating. Otherwise your forward progression would be very little. Let us know how it goes.

                          • Welcome, Wisker.....

I think you'll find that getting an amphib to drive your spouse/significant other crazy tends to backfire in the BEST way. Sooner or later, she'll tend to appreciate how much fun she's missing, and she'll want her own. These things tend to multiply quickly.

                            • The great state of taxes, that's for sure! There's a bunch of here in Buffalo, so feel free to come on out and join us sometime. Also the Max 6 wheeler factory (Recreatives Inc) is in Buffalo and if you're into 6 wheelers you definitely have to stop by for a factory tour of the place. It's so much fun, but be warned, most people end up buying something every time they visit, including me.

                              • Well, my wife probably was questioning my sanity when I bought my Max Buffalo, but 1 1/2 years later, she now says she cannot imagine life without "Buffy!" We use that puppy for just about everything. It plows snow. It travels on the snowmobile trails with its tracks. It will pull a trailer in the water with 200 lbs on it. It hauls and dumps firewood and rocks. It winches fallen trees out of the lake. It launches boats. We're getting ready to outfit it with a landscaping drag.
