    • Hey, EZ;

Welcome to the discussion boards. I'm also in Virginia, not far from where you picked up the Hustler. If you need any parts or information, I'd be glad to help.

      Good luck on the project!

I just found this site. I have a Attex I don't know the model. I had a 208 tt years back and loved it but kids bills etc so I sold it. I have loved 6x6's sense my teens when a friend had a Attex and a amificat. I live in central Vermont on the NH border. I'm putting one back together and boy is it a mess. paided to much for it but got sucked in by fond memories.

          • Welcome to the boards, Ericood. There's a bunch of Attex enthusiasts present, so if you need advice or parts, you shouldn't have much trouble. You'll find that everyone here is more than happy to help out, but we thrive on pictures and videos, so you'll do well to feed our habit!

            Good Luck

            • Gotta Kadoo

              Hello,
First....... and second this is a great 6x6 website!
I have owned a late 1960s IMP Kadoo for about 15 years. I got it from a friend who was cleaning up his yard it was under a leaf covered tarp(I lifted the cover and asked what are you doing with it?) he said "Junk... I wanted it out of my sight." I knew it was awesome no matter what kind of condition and took it right then and there.

It had the transmission, chains, sprockets, steering wheel, 4 lug spindles and gas tank. Original Green and tan Fiberglass was excellent until a friend backed into it (he apologized )while I had it stored at his house, because my wife didn't want to see it sitting in my back yard. Well after it took some minor damage I brought it home and told my wife it is here to stay because it wouldn't have happened if it was at home.

I had a local machinist make me 6 axles shafts, what an ass beating. I have a small budget for the 6x6 and most times put on the back burner because my antique cars come first (3),66 mustangs (one mint all original 289 4spd, one I am build into a 4x4,one waiting restoration,64caddy sedan deville, 79 vette,64 corvair convert.(my first car bought when I was 17 now 37)83 Ford ranger 5.0 V8, work trucks and mini excavator to boot.... being I am married with 2 girls and 1 boy all under 6 yrs. and I have been restoring a 110 year old house. I still find time with all that, my kids are spoiled , love everything I do and want to do everything I do, even run the excavator around my yard with close supervision.

I am going to restore the Kadoo this winter being I found an engine transplant, a 1980s 4 cyl Kawasaki GPZ 550 ...68 HP street bike engine I stripped the beautiful running bike. Way more power than ever designed for but would sound awesome and different than any other 6x6. I will have to be careful to keep from breaking things. I bought a custom metallic green dupont auto paint(i have years of auto body experience). Then the only parts I need now will be tires and rims. I am starting to assemble things so I will be posting some Pictures soon. So this is a little about me.

              Keep 6 wheeling,

              Christian

                    • welcome to the board, keybored!!! You should post some pictures of the kadoo. Not many of those. And be interesting to see how your install/conect the engine.
Your location doesn't have to be exact, just roughly if your worried. But if you are really worried then you dont really have to post it.
Wow, I'm the 3rd Michigander to welcome you.

                      • Dear All,

This is my third attempt to post something, anything. I'll make this brief since I am getting tired. I am new to all things ATV. I have only seen children race them. However, I am 68 years old and a real belt and suspenders kinda guy. I had a very serious stroke 6 1/2 years ago and count myself as disabled. I would like to find something to occupy me and gratify me aside from ---------------. Pretty tough no? Perhaps the ATV world could distract my restless mind into something more useful. At any rate, I would be happy to hear from any of you what to think about ATVs, what vehicles you prefer and why, along with a hundred other questions that I'm not smart enough to ask you.

That's all for now, write soon,

                        • I like the 8x8. First, for the capability of bringing along so many people or cargo. Second, for the added stability vs. a 6x6, both on land and in the water. I own an Argo, but after seeing the pics and, hearing the reports, I would, if buying new, go for Matt's Mudd Ox, HANDS DOWN!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks all for your warm welcome.
I am a resident of Leesburg, New Jersey 08327 if you want to google it. Other people might say blah NJ, well I have lived here most of my life and it is a nice area except for taxes and a few other things I could live without. I have traveled all over the eastern USA (Maine to Florida and as far out west as Missouri) and I still love to come home to NJ(hard to believe). Well I am off to wander around the site now and I will post some Kadoo pics soon.

                            Keep amphibing,

                            • Checking in from Chugiak, Alaska

I have been hanging out in the shadows, trying to glean some knowledge from everyone here. I am looking to purchase a rig for hunting and ice fishing. From what I see, a person would be hard pressed to find a better way to travel, especially here in Alaska. Thanks for the great support to the sport. I look forward to getting involved and asking some questions down the road.

                              • Hi Refak, welcome to the site. I doubt you could find a more capable recreational vehicle. Good luck in your hunt for the right machine and let us know when you find something.
