Welcome to the site. Try posting a wanted ad in the classifieds for a little better exposure since not everyone checks this thread. Also, if you can offer some paperwork to members that would allow their donations to be tax deductible I'm sure that would help out greatly and you may be able to entice people to help you out. Just a thought.
Thank you, great idea- I appreciate it.. and will do! The charity is new to me too, so I'll ask about the paperwork. I'd thought about offering that so they could ease their tax bill a bit

    • Hi everyone, this looks like a great site. I've got a Argo 6x6, just bought and I'm wonderin what h/p motor is in it. I have been told it is a 1980, but I think it is older, it has a Kohler twin with a Tillitson carb (type hr) great fun, always loved six wheelers, when I was a kid I worked in a machine shop that built Anphi Cats. That was 30 years ago, the stuff he had around the shop was wild! When I was working there it was no longer making them but there was 5 or 6 of them there that we could use every now and then when the bosses kids would let us. the inventor was a mechanical genious,(Ron Beehoo). was one of the best places I ever worked as a kid. anyways, the chains in my Argo are single and this leads me to believe my machine is older than 1980, having problem with motor right now I think the carb need's rebuilding, no high idle power just runs if thottle isn't opened up, took carb off to take to rebuilders on monday. pulled all chains and bearings out this winter and replaced them, looking foward to taking it to hunt camp this summer, please let me know if you can identify horse pwer on my buggy and if anyone has ever changed thier single chains to double. Looking foward to using this site for friends and info. Is it true these machines are made here in Ontario Canada????Thanks

        • Hey guys, welcome to the site. DDA, a Max II will give you the most leg room out of just about any ATV out there. I am 6'2" and can stretch my legs all the way out and brace myself against the front of the lower tub. Of course, you can increase the legroom on some other ATVs by moving the seat back so keep that in mind.

tritesupnorth, if you can post a picture of the motor someone may be able to help you identify it a little easier. You are correct, ODG manufactures Argos in New Hamburg, Ontario. As for your chains, you probably don't need to change to double chain. Try posting your questions in a new thread in the Argo section of the site for a little more exposure and some of the Argo experts will probably chime in to help you out.

                    • I've been a member here for awhile now, mostly lurking and learning for the better part of the last year. I knew I wanted a Hustler, but not a project machine ready for restoration. So I picked up a very good Hustler 950 today from Raceone3. Raceone3 went out of his way, letting me spend the better part of 3 hours with him this morning learning about general maintenance and a trail ride nearby his house to learn what the 950 can really do. I even got some mud on my sweatshirt and a branch or two slapping me in the face. I had a freaking blast. I learned allot. When I finely got it home.. I loaded up the wife and my 2 daughters and we took it for a spin on the vacant lot next door. Then I washed it up and put it away in my carport.

Only problem I had was my 5x8 trailer is a bit too small for it and when I was done and unloading it.. the left side leaf spring broke. Glad it broke at my house and not on the highway. Now i think I'll get a bigger 6x10 trailer with larger 15" wheels.

Dan, it was a pleasure meeting you. Glad to hear you made it home without incident (even if just barely). The only bad news is that the camera caught none of the action new camera and there seems to be a lot of operator error going on. I hate that we didn't get your first ride on video, but I'll try to make up for it at Busco. enjoy the machine and I look forward to riding with you again.
