  • Hi trapper1, welcome to the site. AATVs perform well in swamps as long as you have tires that will swim. For deep snow, you will want to get tracks. Both Argo and Max have tracks available for them from the factory and aftermarket. If I were you, I would look at a good used ATV with less than 100 hours on it. There are a good many out there but I don't know how many are near Halifax. If you could find one, you could save a lot of money over a new ATV and still have a dependable machine. Good luck with your purchase.

    • Trapper1.... I'm just across the water in Newfoundland. I have an ATV and more recently an argo and travel the same terrain as you. The Argo is far superior given the terrain I use.... mud, water, marshy areas and of course snow. It goes much further than my quad. Keep an eye out for a good used unit.... check Kijiji...

      • Hi all,
We just aquired a Max IV for our rescue squad. Very interested in seeing if any one else has used a 6x6 in a rescue capacity

        • Hi rescue557, welcome to the site. The Max IV should be a great addition to your team and a good excuse to go "practice" off road.

            • Hi hobart, welcome to the site. You may want to start a new thread in the "other AATVs" section of this site and give as much information as you can especially pictures if you have them. Someone may be able to help you identify the transmission and anything else you are trying to find out.

              • Hello my name is Evan and I have just come across a 1994est. Vanguard and wondering is it expensive to fix up if need be? How reliable are they? A car lot has one for sale and is asking $2800.00 but to me it is far from good condition. Transmission has a little wetness to the casing. Hood is not even attached. Would it be a good fixer upper? I live in Dothan, AL. I want to get it to drive my two boys around, there only 2 years and 8 weeks, but soon ill be able to and theyll have fun.

                • Hi Evan, welcome to the site. Just going by what you described, it sounds way overpriced for the shape that the 6x6 is in. You can find newer 6x6's in great shape with less than 100 hours on them for around $4000.

                  • hi, my name is Jason and i'm a big fan of amphibious atv's. My dad used to own a attex when I was a kid. I am now 37 and I am looking for a used 6 wheeler, preferably an attex. Any ideas where I can look for one? I'm looking for one that does not need too much work.
