My first gen attex's are slightly on the left. The most difficult thing about moving them would be relocating the slotes in the floor pan. Actually moving them over would be a 1/2hr or less job with a grinder and a welder.
But like Mike said, they are ok there. You need to be able to drive it from the right side on certain situations too.

    Good luck on your hunt.

    • Hi from KIM

Hi I own a 2003 argo conquest 8x8 I bought it this april fromj a guy in Denver Colorado it had 55 hours, it came with supertracks a 4500 pound winch, snow plow, alternator, heater, aluminum top with slide in cloth sides. The aluminum top can be used as a boat rack or for carring stuff. I have taken it on a couple of trips fishing to remote lakes this summer and it worked great. I used the snow plow in April when we had a late snow storm and i am very happy that i will not be snow blowing snow this winter. I live in Alberta Canada and will be taking it moose hunting in a couple of days. I live out in the country and have been using the conquest for fencing and other chores out in the field. I am thinking that I would like to get another set of tires and rims and I have been looking at the mud lites 22x11X8. Does anybody have any experience with these tires pn a conquest. So far I really enjoy my Argo

      • Sounds like quite a rig you've got there! Meinfeld has the Mudlites on his Hustler 980 Bigfoot. I hear they are excellent in the mud, but they don't really swim and they are a hard ride.

            • Hello everyone, new to the site

Hi, my name is Mike. I am 28, and live in New York. I love working on anything mechanical, and have had quite a few projects in the past. I recently purchased a hustler that was in need of restoration. I believe it is a 1976, it has the kohler 16hp engine. This is my first experience with an amphibious atv. I am almost done with the mechanical restoration, which has gone pretty well. After it is back to drivable condition, I plan on making a few modifications to make it swim better. I would love to hear any tips, or suggestions since I am new to these vehicles. I will try to get some good pictures soon, but it is not much to look at right now.
I don't want to go fast, I just want to go anywhere.

              • Hello

Found this site by accident - usually visit Route 6X6. I am interested in the springers that I saw on this site. Would like to know more, especially what parts were used. Have thought about that for my Swamp Fox, along with getting rid of the Tecumseh engine.

                • Mike and D. welcome to the site!

Dfletcher, use a search to check the springer threads. They have probably already covered everything that you want to know. Particularly the Attex thread:

Hello 6x6 folks, I just happened upon this site looking for a restorable 6x6, I have been into motorcycles, 4X4 trucks, anything off road for many years. I have restored many motorcycles, and have rebuilt many Jeeps. I am in need of a new project. I remember an old attex that a friend had when I was a teenager, approx. 30 years ago, and have always wanted one. I live in Bath N.Y. and have only seen a few in this area. The ones I have seen are newer, and cost between 6and 8 thousand dollars. I really want one that needs restoration. I have read a few threads, and see that a gentleman that goes by the handle of Amphiman1 is close to my area, and I hope to get in touch with him as he seems to be somewhat of an expert on these machines. This seems to be a very well developed site with a lot of good information.
                    Happy trails,
                    Hillsurfer

                    • Route 6x6 refugee here. I wondered where in the heck everyone went.

I have a 2003 Max II, and went to a couple of rides at Deepwater back before the socialists closed it off to AATVs.

                          Hello Everyone,
My name is Tony and I am in Evansville, Indiana. I just picked up my second six wheeler last week. I have owned a McKee Rough Rider for several years and noticed my video on this site: http://www.6x6world.com/forums/other...der-video.html
That was way back when I first got that basket case running. It has since got a sweet paint job to match my pickup truck. It has the JLO 2-stroke and runs scary fast. Has no reverse so I was looking to buy a T20 and mod it, but found a Max II the other day that started and moved (briefly) that I couldn't pass up.
Now I am reading up on the T20 to see why I lost the left side drive.
Too many projects, not enough time.

                          • Hi from Tom H.

                            Hello
I am new here so a little bit about me and my project. I am 57, live in Utah and am a Mechanical Engineer. I was given a mid 70's Ruppster frame with wheels and tires, rear end and steering box but nothing else. The frame was bent and I have been rebuilding it into a Polaris Ranger type vehicle. I cut the rear axle and front axle off and mounted them on snowmobile leaf springs. I mounted a Kohler M18 2 cylinder 4 stroke that drives through a 94-C Comet centrifical clutch to a Ski-Doo 640ER chain case and a short drive shaft to the sprung rear axle. The 640ER chain case has a reverse in it. I added a roll cage and fenders and am building a body for it. I also have a second Polaris axle that I am going to mount behind the stock one on a swing arm that pivots from the first axle. It will be chain driven from the first axle. I have a set of Polaris front hubs and disk brakes that I will replace the stock no front brake hubs with. The wheels and tires have been replaced by larger diameter ATV wheels and tires I will post some pictures as soon as I get a chance.

                            Thanks

                            Tom H
