With a little (actually a lot) of lubrication, I got the drive train moving, the engine turning over and the starter working. I only had spark in one cylinder, new spark plugs didn't change things so I ordered a couple of new coils but haven't got them installed yet to see if it solves the spark issues. While waiting for the coils, I pulled off the carb with the intention of cleaning it up. It is in pretty rough shape. It's a Walbro carb on a Kohler K440-2AM motor the bore is 1 1/16 inch (or around 3.23 cm) and I can't find any numbers on it. Someone on one of the other Forums told me Richard's Relics have those carbs but I had already called what I thought was Richard's Relics and was told that the carb had been out of production for 30 years and supplies are long gone (I'll need to check to make sure I called Richard's Relics). I think I have a chance at bringing the old carb back to life but what I'd really like to do is upgrade to a newer carb that I can get parts for. Before I registered for any of the discussion forums I ran across a thread that talked about adapting a Mikuni carb to one of these units but I can't seem to find it now (it might have been on a Snowmobile forum). At any rate, I'm excited to join this group and would greatly appreciate any guidance you experts might have. Thanks and take care
There's a place online gpi growth products inc. took over production of the 2 stroke Kohler's and may have parts

Hello, I’m Gizzcast and totally new to any forum type of website. Not sure if I’m following the proper procedures and please let me know how this all works. I am from Sudbury (Northern) Ontario Canada and I have a band sawmill that is driven by a motor that came off of a Terra Jet. I need a new carb for my motor and cannot find one. The motor is a Tecumseh XL cast iron model # OH160-170124B. Worst case I would be interested in buying a used similar engine. Thanks ahead of time for your assistance and looking forward to your replies.

Thanks Mike, I've come across this site several times while researching my Prairie Bobcat that I purchased a few years ago and look forward to learning all i can about 6x6 machines, especially the Prairie Bobcat as I continue on my restoration journey. i never know whether to refer to these amazing machines as ATVs, UTVs, off road vehicles or simply as 6x6s, i'm sure there is no wrong answer, but i would like to be consistent with the majority of folks on this site so i don't confuse people about what i am referring to so please feel free to let me know which terms are best suited when referring to our 6x6 off road machines. Thank you, Fred

Good Day my nick name is Red from Northern Ontario, Hello everyone . I have owned a 1981 8 wheel argo for 10 years and traded to a 2004 8 wheel Avenger 2 months ago. Now I am looking for good aftermarket tires that swim. 25 inch tires on the machine now. Any suggestions?, I have seen on this site that the 25x13 x9 interco vampires will work,so I am wondering how well ?. Also are there any other tires that will swim as well as the argo originals .Thanks Red

I just bought a swamp fox. I know absolutely nothing about these things. It has a 2 stroke gold cart engine on it (352)

Hello to all. I think I was a member here years ago,,sold all my toys and now I'm in the market for another 6x6. I had a Maxx2 and a Maxx 4 and a Sperry that i with I'd have kept. I now live on 12 acres with lakefront so it's time for a 6x6. Had a boat but was a hassle getting it in the water and no one wanted to use it so I sold it. I'll put an ad in the wanted or classified section. I think I'm leaning towards an Argo. I don't really want too much of a project since both my hands are now crippled. Willing to travel for a good deal. Willing to pay off your loan on a new one. I'll be checking in every morning.
