Hi guys, just got a RIM 4 seater with the Chaparral engine. Hope too get it fixed up so the wife and kids can trail ride with me next summer.
This site is great! I've gotten some good information and ideas allready.

Hi, folks! I live in Kodiak, Alaska, and I am a retired teacher. I have had an Argo Vanguard 6x6 for about eight years. I am planning to move to Alabama (Coffee County) where I have purchased 25 acres of pine forest. My wife is also a teacher, and she'll retire at the end of this school year, pending the sale of our Kodiak home. If we don't sell the house this year, she'll have to support me one more year!
I love to hunt and fish, and my Argo has been the loyal companion of many of my adventures. Loyal... until last Wednesday. But I'll talk about that in a different thread, hoping to get some advice from some of you savvy amphibiotics. I must confess that I even have to have the oil changed and the idler chains tightened by a professional mechanic--I'm all thumbs, and arthritic thumbs at that!

Welcome to the site.It would be great to have a new member in Alabama,I think i'm the only active member in the state.I live in cetral Alabama.There is alot of good hunting and fishing in coffee co and close to the coast.That is definately a big climate change from Alaska to Alabama.Do you know how hot and muggy it is here.lol.Good luck with your move.

I have an argo conquest and have just changed the second wheel drive shaft, bearings and chains , thanks here to 'rockdoctor07' who's you tube video was a great help.
Putting the new chains is a pig of a job, I adapted a vise grip to pull the chain together, this was hard especially on the dual chain. The question I'm asking is there a tool to help with the dual chain

Hey All,
It has been a pleasure doing research on your site. I have a 1988 Argo 6x6 Vanguard, I picked it up with tracks, and hard top for a great deal. I resided it and tried to patch a couple minor leaks and today it's running like a champ. I still have minor leaks, I think it's coming from through the bearings or axels. It has been a blast, I just put plexi glass in the windows of my hard top and its looking pretty good. I look forward to learning more from all of you.

Quite a move you're doing there. And here I am, hoping to visit Alaska one of these days, but probably will be moving to Arkansas sometime in the future. At least that's the way it's looking.

Amphibiotics, huh? I'm kinda leaning over towards Amphidiot myself, but then that's just me. Sounds like you've had lots of experience running the 6x6, if you have any kind of special set up, I'd sure like to see what you've done to her.
